SwapDC have partnered with The Washington Mystics to host a Sustainable Marketplace at Sycamore & Oak from 5–7 PM. 

This is an opportunity for local sustainable brands to showcase their brand, connect with new customers, and be part of a community event that celebrates creativity, innovation, and impact. These local vendors prioritize circularity, up-cycling, reuse, and thoughtful production practices.

This is a zero-waste event—please bring reusable, paper or sustainable bags for your purchased items.

Chef Jaren will be have food available for sale on Saturday during the swap.

Join us for PRISM: At Anthem Row to celebrate World Pride in DC.

Activities will take place June 8th from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Bring up to 10 items to donate and take home some “new” gems.

There will also be a sparkle up studio and a local tailor to help you learn more about sewing.

PRISM will transform downtown D.C. into a vibrant hub of creativity, sustainability, and LGBTQIA+ pride. With immersive art, high-energy dance parties, sustainable fashion activations and inspiring storytelling, PRISM invites the community to show up, show off, and celebrate what makes D.C. shine.

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS

• Step 1 – Bring It/Drop-Off: On Saturday, 7 from 12:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m., bring up to 10 items (clothes, shoes, or accessories) to the Swap For Your Life check-in. This is just a drop-off location, the actual swap will take place on Sunday, June 8th.

  You’ll earn 1 credit per item – your swap currency! Items not accepted can be taken back or left for recycling.

• Step 2 – Swap It: On Sunday, June 8 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., bring your credits (or donations) and shop the Swap! Browse the racks, pick your new favorite pieces, and check out using your credits. Simple and sustainable.

RULES OF THE SWAP

• Items should be clean and in good condition.

• Items should be free of faults or with minor faults that are easy to repair e.g. a missing button.

• No underwear or swimwear.

• If an item is not accepted into our swap, we can facilitate recycling through our chosen partner if you choose not to take back the item.

Stay for the vogue dance party at 6pm-10pm with local DJ’s on the main stage.

SWAP TWO WEEKENDS IN A ROW!!

Yes, June 1st and June 8th we’re swapping for DC WORLD PRIDE!

Join us for a day of swapping and creative recycling!

The swap starts at 1pm. Bring 5-10 items to swap with others. All sizes clothing accepted. Please leave any undergarments, bathing suits or torn, dingy items at home.

Our upcycling denim workshop focuses on transforming your old jeans into stylish new pieces. This event encourages creativity and sustainability, allowing you to give your worn denim a second life.

Please bring a pair of jeans that you no longer wear, or pick up some denim from the swap. Whether they are faded, ripped, or simply no longer your style, we will guide you through various techniques to repurpose your denim. Tools and additional materials will be provided, but feel free to bring any embellishments or fabrics you’d like to incorporate.

Saturday, March 15th join us to swap seeds, plants and cultivate relationships with soil and plants. From painting pottery to conversation starters, expect an evening curated with our diverse creative community in mind and the right vibe to match.

Join us at the Annual Fall Festival presented by Dreaming Out Loud.

There will be food, games and music, along with the swap to help the Farm at Kelley Miller bring a successful farming season to an end.

We will be swapping clothing, shoes, accessories and books.

The Fall Fest activities will start at 10am and the swap will begin at 11am.

Please note swap donations will end at 1:30pm.

Swap + Shop is happening this SUNDAY!

Bring your clean, gently-used clothes to swap and connect with fellow fashion enthusiasts.

Starting at noon, we will start swapping, and you can shop from the swap racks or the local vendors items.You'll have a chance to customized your jeans or pick up a "new" item from the swap to customize, for a fee. This event helps us build community, plus it's a sustainable way to shop and reduce waste.

Come early and stay for the sustainable fashion show at 3pm! Clothing from the Swap will be modeled by the Dress to Manifest Fashion House. If you are interested in modeling, please arrive no later than 1:30pm.

Please note: Clothing donation drop-off ends at 3:30pm.
